Tissue Proteomics in Clinical Trials

The capabilities developed within ProCan Technologies present an opportunity to incorporate proteomics into clinical trials. We anticipate that proteomic signatures indicative of patient responsiveness to the drug being trialed, will be able to be detected in the early phase clinical trials. Following successful identification of signatures that can stratify patients, these signatures can subsequently be developed as patient selection tools for the later, larger trials and as a companion diagnostic when the drug reaches the market.

Targeted Analysis When Needed:

  • Targeted assays for absolute quantification of specific proteins using mass spectrometry, e.g. using Selected Reaction Monitoring (SRM), can be developed to focus on particular proteins of interest.

Sample Preparation Details

  • We can analyse Formalin-Fixed, Paraffin-Embedded or Fresh Frozen samples.
  • Samples can be sectioned by the client or our team (sectioning by us is an additional service).
  • Compatible with any tissue type, not limited to cancer tissues.
  • Requires 10-30µm sections.
  • Preferred sample submission in a low-binding 0.6ml push-top tube (non-screwcap) which we can supply.
